It is my entry for the FMP Show (competition) (From My Perspective - online cp Magazine by Ann Kullberg), so I will not show it untill later. After this painting I have another in mind, also for a competition. But probably painted with watercolors.
In this case it is from Amazonas. On the thumbnail my idea is sketched in small format. I have photos from a rainforest-zoo and ordinary zoo that I used for reference. Then I composed the view. I really wanted to show that we look at the top of the trees, hence the title : "Amazonas - The Roof".
I find the sloth a very strange and interesting animal and wanted to draw it. The parrots with their beautiful colors are painted as a pair, to balance with the larger sloth.
I underpainted with watersoluble colored pencil - dark sepia, and then layers of ordinary cp's on top. I call it "Black&White".
I used watersoluble cp's, cp's and a little ink and acrylic for this.

I have tried ws cp's earlier with no luck, but not giving up on them, I decided to try again. And I found this time they worked fine ;)

Here pics from the progress, the finished painting can also be seen on my webpage / Picasaalbum

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5118148263713297378" style="FLOAT: left; (several new images on http://le.daugaard.googlepages.com - be sure to check out).

Here is a wip of Lady, who is a cat who loves baskets. That is why this portrait shows her in one ;)
She is drawn as a gift from my brother to his girlfriend, who is Ladys "human". After some lurking from Lady, my brother is now accepted and allowed to pad and cuttle her .... cats often have to have a little time to accept new humans, don't they ?
The drawing is done with colored pencils.

Lenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08048312572661283268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32451048.post-1160643218257848632006-10-12T01:51:00.000-07:002007-09-12T05:45:28.017-07:00Competition Winner - chosen drawing
Charlotte chose the pencil drawing.Lenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08048312572661283268noreply@blogger.com
